Artistic anniversary

The “18th Anniversary Show” at Greg Thompson Fine Art in North Little Rock is a rich display of works from the gallery’s roster of artists, Ellis Widner writes in the Artbeat column in Tuesday’s Style section.

Three canvases — paintings by Mississippi artist Glennray Tutor, El Dorado native Gary Bolding and Little Rock’s Sheila Cotton — and the glass sculpture of Tennessee resident Richard Jolley are especially memorable.

Shows at two other Little Rock galleries are also of interest: “Exodus of Dreams — Cuba to America” features a group of Cuban artists in exile at Boswell Mourot Fine Art and, at Hearne Fine Art, exhibits by The V.I.T.A.L. Artist Collective (especially Latoya Hobbs’ self-portrait diptych and Rex DeLoney’s Men of Color) and Kevin Cole’s small, but engaging “And the Band Played On.”
