This article was published January 28, 2013 at 2:41 p.m.

A fire at a plant in White Hall forced evacuations Monday afternoon.

Brandon Morris, deputy public information officer with the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management, said the blaze occurred at the ArcelorMittal Pine Bluff, Inc. plant at 5100 Industrial Drive South about 2 p.m.

There was a concern about chemicals and acids inside the plant, forcing an evacuation of the building and factory. However, no injuries were reported and the fire has been contained.

Morris said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and no chemical tanks were affected.
