Park seeks critter mugs

— Maryanne Stansbury, an interpreter at Pinnacle Mountain State Park, is creating a display for the park visitor center of wildlife photographs by park visitors.

“If you have a photo you would like to share of an animal” - a photo taken anywhere in the park, which is in far western Little Rock - “please send it to us,” she says.

Visitors may drop off prints at the visitor center or e-mail digital images to Stansbury at maryanne.stansbury@arkansas.gov.

“The photo will be on display at the visitor center as long as possible. We would love to see your photos and catch a glimpse of the amazing critters, large and small, that call the park home,” she says.

More information is at (501) 868-5806.

Speaking of animals, “dogs are allowed in Arkansas state parks but are required to be on a leash at all times,” according to the “frequently asked questions” page on website arkansasstateparks.com.

No pets are allowed in public buildings except service animals. Dog-friendly cabins are available for rent at Devil’s Den, Petit Jean, Village Creek, Lake Catherine, Mount Magazine and Mount Nebo state parks.
