Ex-Tyson CFO Hankins tapped by Globe Express Services

Globe Express Services has named former Tyson Foods Inc. Chief Financial Officer Steve Hankins as an executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief information officer, the Charlotte, N.C.-based logistics provider said Tuesday.

Hankins, who worked 21 years at Tyson, will report to Globe Express’ President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Hughes, the company said in a statement. Before he was CFO at Tyson, he served as chief information officer responsible for information-technology strategy, network optimization, telecommunications and shared services, the statement said. He more recently has established an IT consulting firm, Accio.US, that offers infrastructure management to small- and medium-sized businesses.

"Steve has experience in the capital markets, lead acquisitions, integrations and major transformations in the corporate finance, accounting and technology sectors," Hughes said. "He's built a sterling reputation of achieving dramatic improvements in process efficiency and increased productivity across all sectors of the business, including warehouse management, distribution and transportation. Most importantly, Steve shares my philosophy that we have a stewardship responsibility to grow our business, to be innovative and to provide unparalleled service to our customers."

Hankins holds a bachelor’s degree from Harding University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Arkansas. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
