Wedding wish lists change with the times

Wedding registries have traditionally been known as a sure way for a couple to start, or add to, a fine-china collection, writes Helaine R. Williams in Family.

Today’s gift registries veer well off the path forged by blushing young brides who, guided by their mothers, sought to begin their marriages with new sets of Lenox china or Waterford crystal.

The two biggest changes: Husbands-to-be are helping to pick out the plates and more often that not, they are not fine china.
