3 killed in accidents on Arkansas roads

A four-vehicle crash killed one person and injured two others in Jonesboro on Friday night.

Johnny Hogan, 44, was driving his 2006 Chevrolet east on Highland Drive when the vehicle crossed the turn lane at the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and drove into oncoming traffic at 9:15 p.m., according to an Arkansas State Police report. Hogan’s car sideswiped a 2007 Chrysler heading west on Highland Drive. The Chrysler then hit a 2013 Kia that was also heading west. The Kia began spinning and hit a 2006 Ford also heading west on Highland Drive, the report said.

Hogan, of Jonesboro, was killed in the crash. Robert Johnson, 62, also of Jonesboro and the driver of the Kia, was injured. Tiffany Walker, 21, who was in the Ford and is also from Jonesboro, was injured as well. The report did not specify whether Walker was the driver or a passenger. Two other individuals involved in the accident were not injured.

The injured were taken to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis and St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro with unspecified injuries. Road conditions were clear and dry, the report said.

An accident in Garland County on Friday afternoon killed a Hot Springs man and injured four others.

Sydnie Kinsey, 67, was driving his 1995 Dodge Ram van west on U.S. Route 270, west of Couchwood Road, about 4:30 p.m., when he attemptedto make a left turn at Gene’s Liquor and his car was struck by a 2009 GMC Sierra traveling east, according to a state police report. Kinsey was killed in the accident.

Douglas Howard, 38, of Malvern, was driving the GMC Sierra. He and his three passengers - Virginia Clifton, 60, Alaina Howard, 12, and Luke Howard, 7, all of Malvern - were injured and taken to Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs with unspecified injures, according to the report. Road conditions were clear and dry, the report said.

A Vilonia man was also killed in a car accident Friday afternoon when his car went off the road and hit a tree.

Kyle Courville, 20, was driving south on Arkansas 107 just north of the Pulaski County line around 1:10 p.m. when he passed another car, veered off the west side of the road, overcorrected and ended up off the east side of the road, according to the state police. His 2006 Nissan Sentra went through a fence and hit a tree, the crash report said. The road conditions were clear and dryat the time of the accident, it said.

Courville was taken to Conway Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
