Man charged with stabbing girlfriend

A North Little Rock man was arrested Saturday in connection with the stabbing of his girlfriend.

Just before 2 a.m. on Saturday, Donnell Davis, 33, stabbed his girlfriend in the head at their home in the 400 block of West 20th Street, according to a North Little Rock police arrest report. He then grabbed what witnesses told police was a long rifle and pointed it at them, saying, “I’m going to start shooting everybody,” the report said. Davis also took his girlfriend into their bedroom and locked the door, refusing to let her leave, it said.

When police arrived, Davis was still locked in the bedroom with his girlfriend, who was “bleeding profusely,” the report said. Police arrested Davis and found a BB gun, not a rifle, in the home. At least two others were in the house at the time of the assault, the report said.

Davis was charged with second-degree domestic battery, aggravated assault and first-degree false imprisonment. He was taken to Pulaski County jail, where he is being held without bail.

Man shot 3 times after argument

A man was in serious condition in an area hospital Saturday night after he was shot multiple times in Little Rock.

A North Little Rock police officer saw Tyrone Harris, 33, in the road near the intersection of Roosevelt and Arch streets about 9:30 p.m., said Little Rock police spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis. The officer was headed back to North Little Rock after transporting an inmate to the Pulaski County jail.

Witnesses told Little Rock police that Harris had been arguing with another man when he was shot about three times.

The reason for the argument is unknown. Harris was taken to an area hospital for treatment, Davis said. The man who shot him was described as a black man wearing a red shirt who ran west from the scene, she said.

Woman arrested in girlfriend’s assault

A Little Rock woman was charged in connection with the assault of her girlfriend on Friday evening.

About 5:20 p.m., Cynthia Bailey, whose age was not in the arrest report, told police that her girlfriend, Melida Douglas, 58, attacked her and stabbed her with a knife multiple times, according to a Jacksonville Police Department arrest report.

Bailey was intoxicated and had various cuts, police said. She was taken to North Metro Medical Center in Jacksonville.

Douglas told police Bailey attacked her with a golf club and threatened to kill her. She said she stabbed Bailey with her keys to defend herself. Police found no evidence of blood or skin on Douglas’ keys, the report said. A witness told police Douglas and Bailey had been arguing, got in a “tussle” and Douglas pulled out a switchblade and began cutting Bailey. The altercation was in the 9000 block of McCain Road in Jacksonville.

Douglas was charged with second-degree battery and taken to Pulaski County jail, where she’s being held without bail.

in check forgery

Little Rock police arrested a woman Friday afternoon as she tried to cash a fraudulent check - her fourth that day, according to the arrest report.

Jonese Boyd, 32, of Little Rock, tried to cash the checks at four different Regions Bank locations and got cash from two of them, according to the report. She was arrested at the Regions Bank at 14920 Cantrell Road at 12:30 p.m., and police found a scale and grinder in her car.

She’s being held in Pulaski County jail in lieu of $5,000 bond on four counts of second-degree forgery and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the jail’s website.
