Pryor raises more than $1.2 million during quarter

LITTLE ROCK — U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor's campaign says it's raised more than $1.2 million over the past three months as he prepares for a tough fight to keep his Arkansas seat next year.

Pryor's campaign manager said Monday the Democratic lawmaker has nearly $4 million in the bank for his bid for a third term in the Senate. Pryor was first elected to the seat in 2002.

Pryor doesn't have an announced opponent, but is widely viewed by Republicans as the most vulnerable incumbent in the Senate seeking re-election next year. Conservative groups have already launched ads criticizing Pryor.

A gun-control group co-founded by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has also aired spots against Pryor over his vote against expanded background checks for firearms purchases.
