Former U.S. Rep. Mike Ross has raised nearly $2 million in his bid for the Democratic nomination for Arkansas governor next year.
Ross on Monday reported raising $1.97 million since he launched his bid in April for the state's top office. Ross had $1.7 million in the bank when the fundraising quarter ended June 30.
Ross is running against former Lt. Gov. Bill Halter for the Democratic nomination. A fundraising report for Halter had not been filed by early Monday afternoon.
Little Rock businessman Curtis Coleman, who is seeking the Republican nomination, reported raising $101,714 during the quarter. That amount includes a $25,000 loan Coleman gave his campaign.
Reports were not available for former U.S. Rep. Asa Hutchinson and Debra Hobbs, who are also seeking the Republican nomination.
