High School Fishing World Finals

RUSSELLVILLE — The High School Fishing World Finals tournament will continue today through Saturday at Lake Dardanelle in Russellville. Driver Safety Program

HEBER SPRINGS — An AARP Driver Safety class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the McCoy Room of the Administration/Student Services Building at Arkansas State University-Heber Springs. Individuals age 55 and older who complete the course will qualify for a three-year discount on their automobile-insurance premiums in Arkansas. Southern Gospel Quartet Singing

HEBER SPRINGS —The 41st annual Bud Magness Memorial Southern Gospel Quartet Singing will be held Friday and Saturday on the stage of the Spring Park Amphitheater. Summer Concert Series

CONWAY — The Summer Concert Series at the Faulkner County Library continues at 2 p.m. with Simona Donova and Michael Yoder. Flautist Simona Donova and bassist Michael Yoder, who have been collaborating on live and recorded jazz projects since late 2012, have performed several times in central Arkansas. Senior Softball League

RUSSELLVILLE — The Russellville Senior Softball League will have registration from 6-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Russellville Hughes Center. This is the eighth fall season for the league. Starting a Business Seminar

RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will present Starting a Business in Arkansas from 9 a.m. to noon at Arkansas Tech University. Participants will learn the major steps in starting a business and to identify key issues that affect a business’s success. The workshop includes a how-to business guide and handouts relevant to each attendee’s county licensing requirements. The cost is $30. Veterans can attend for free. LESLIE — The Conway Dinner Theater, in association with the Faulkner Academy of Arts and the Greater Searcy County Chamber of Commerce, will present 9 to 5: The Musical at 7 p.m. July 27 at the Ozark Heritage Arts Center in Leslie. HEBER SPRINGS — The 27th annual World Championship Cardboard Boat Races will be held July 27 at Sandy Beach on Greers Ferry Lake. Awards will be given for the most elaborate and fastest boats and the best team spirit. There will be a Titanic Award for the most dramatic sinking. Parking will cost $5. Ancestor Fair

MORRILTON — The Conway County Genealogical Society will sponsor its 17th annual Ancestor Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 3 in the Multipurpose Building at the County Fairgrounds on U.S. 64 East in downtown Morrilton. People will share their family histories and photos, and county genealogical societies will offer publications for sale. For those researching a family tree, assistance will be available.
