UAMS, St. Vincent end partnership talks

Two Little Rock hospitals have ended months of talks about combining some health-care efforts without an agreement.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and St. Vincent Health System announced in a joint statement Friday that hospital officials have been unable to agree on a solution "that meets the goals of both institutions."

As a result, UAMS Chancellor Dan Rahn and other UAMS officials are suggesting to the University of Arkansas board of trustees that the hospital end its negotiations with St. Vincent Health System, according to the statement.
