A 57-year-old Ashdown man was killed Saturday night when he was hit by a pickup while crossing a highway, authorities said.
Bobby Lee Burris was crossing Arkansas 71 in Ashdown about 9 p.m. when he walked into the path of a southbound Ford pickup and was hit, according to an Arkansas State Police report.
Burris died from unspecified injuries. The driver, identified as Raymond D. Latson, 61, of Ashdown, wasn't injured.
The death was the 272nd in a traffic accident in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
