Paragould man drowns in Current River in Missouri

DONIPHAN, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol says an Arkansas man drowned while canoeing in the Current River.

The victim was identified as 57-year-old Stephen T. Hill of Paragould.

The patrol says he drowned Sunday morning when his 16-foot canoe tipped over in the river about five miles north of Doniphan, Mo.

Another person in the canoe swam to shore.
