State authorities are investigating a body that was found Tuesday afternoon in Saline County.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., Arkansas State Police received a call from an official with the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, state police spokesman Bill Sadler said. The individual told police that a work crew discovered a body alongside Arkansas 367, just inside the county line.
Officials with the state police department of criminal investigations arrived shortly thereafter, taking forensic evidence at the scene, Sadler added.
The body, which Sadler said has been preliminarily identified as female, was transported to the State Crime Lab for further investigation. No further information was available.
