16 rounds fired in LR

but no one injured

Little Rock police are investigating random shots fired near Cheetam Park on Saturday evening.

A person walking near 1901 East Capitol Ave. with two others began firing a handgun at random about 5:40 p.m. No one was injured, but a car and at least one residence were hit by the 16 rounds fired, according to Little Rock Police Department spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis.

No arrests have been made.

The people responsible, gun used and reason for the “random shooting” are under investigation, Davis said.

Scott man arrested

A Scott man was arrested Saturday in connection with the imprisonment of two women at a North Little Rock Dollar General.

North Little Rock police found a man standing over two Dollar General employees in the store’s security office at 4129 E. Broadway at11:40 a.m. The women told police the man had held them in the office against their will and had shaken them several times, according to the incident report. He also had broken into the security office, they said. Police described the man as “combative.”

Rodney Martin, 28, was charged with breaking and entering, battery in the second-degree, failure to submit to arrest and two counts of false imprisonment. He was taken to Pulaski County jail where he is being held in lieu of a $47,500 bond.
