Eight arrested in Conway drug-ring probe

Eight people have been arrested in a federal investigation into a purported prescription-drug ring based in Conway.

The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas says Brian Fletcher, 28; Jeremy Burton, 28; Heather Gooden Story, 27; Stephanie Hagie, 28; Michael Young, 27; Jason Hobby, 31; and Frankie Drennan, 49, were arrested. They were all named in a federal indictment charging them with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute unregulated prescription pills and controlled substances.

The eighth suspect, identified as 45-year-old Burnett Smith, was named in a separate federal complaint and also arrested.

Authorities say the group was involved in dealing drugs including Oxycodone, Oxymorphone and Hydromorphone in Faulkner, Pulaski, White and Van Buren counties.

Four firearms, cash, ammunition and various pharmaceutical narcotics were among the items seized during the arrests Tuesday, authorities said.
