Calvary Baptist Church was the setting at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 8, for the marriage of Katheryn Elizabeth Mendelsohn and Parker Byron Brooks. Bill Wellons with Fellowship Bible Church officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Sonya and Dr. Lawrence Mendelsohn, 146 Hickory Creek Circle. Her grandparents are the late Ursula and Dr. Ernest Mendelsohn and Nancy and the late Leo Ray, all of Fort Smith.

The groom is the son of Mary Clare and the late Stanford Finney and Melissa and Stephen Brooks, all of Dallas. His grandparents are Anne and the late Howard Norris of Tyler, Texas; Gillett Sheppard of Rockport, Texas; and Major and the late Marion Brooks of Dallas.

The chancel held a curly willow chuppah decorated with peonies, roses and larkspur. Music was by the De Capo String Quartet and vocalist Scott Stern.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a strapless silk-satin gown with a mermaid-silhouette and carried a bouquet of white and blush roses, peonies and hydrangeas.

Serving as the bride’s honor attendants were her sisters, Jacquelyn Hall of Lexington, Ky., and Mary Mendelsohn of Little Rock. Bridesmaids were Catherine Finney, sister of the groom, and Anne Norburg, both of Dallas; Katherine LaFrance of Little Rock; and Stephanie Campbell of Oxford, Miss. They wore blush-colored, one-shoulder gowns and carried bouquets of pink hydrangeas, peonies and roses.

Flower girls were Millie Ketcher of Little Rock and Ava Miller of North Little Rock. Ring bearer was Frazier Finney of Dallas, nephew of the groom.

Best man was Stephen Brooks II of Dallas, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Stanford Finney, Marshall Finney, William Finney, Paul Rowsey IV and William Brooks, all of Dallas and brothers of the groom; and Maxwell Mendelsohn of Little Rock, brother of the bride. Guests were seated byNicholas Closuit of Aledo, Texas; and Samuel Baumgartel and Bryson Baumgartel, both of Ashburn, Va., cousins of the groom; Ryan Hall of Lexington, Ky.; Christopher Lyons and Collier Lyons, both of Tulsa and cousins of the bride; and Sebastian Green of Little Rock.

A reception at the Country Club of Little Rock followed the ceremony. The buffet held hand-made white dendrobium orchid swans and oversize silver candelabra. Music was by the string quartet and Jessie’s Girls.

The bride has a bachelor’s degree in marketing management from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and is an account executive at Weber Shandwick.

The groom has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in finance and strategy from Southern Methodist University. He is a senior analyst for glendonTodd Capital.

After a wedding trip to South Africa and the Republic of Seychelles, the couple will live in Dallas.
