Designing the Next Generation Airlifter

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Museum of Military History will host Designing the Next Generation Airlifter at 7 p.m. Greg Jones, a research scientist for NASA, and Cale Zeune, an aerospace engineer, will speak at the event. AARP Driver Safety Course

SEARCY — The PrimeTimes of White County Medical Center will host an AARP Driver Safety Course from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Hubach Center. The instructors are Jerry and Bertie Yates. The cost of the class is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. Attendees are asked to park behind the hospital off Moore Street and use the elevator to go to the first floor. Retired Teachers Association Meeting

Learn to Crochet

JACKSONVILLE — Crochet lessons for ages 13 and up will be given at 1:30 p.m. at the Esther D. Nixon Library. Registration is required, and participants are asked to bring a size H crochet hook. Yarn will be provided.

Victorian Toys Workshop

POWHATAN — Powhatan Historic State Park will host a Victorian toys workshop from 9 a.m. to noon. The registration fee is $10 per person, and each participant will learn about traditional toys from the 19th century and take home a homemade toy. Rockabilly Run

WALNUT RIDGE — There will be a Rockabilly Run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Walnut Ridge. The cost is $20 per motorcycle rider and $5 for each additional hand. Registration will begin at 9 a.m., and the grand-prize drawing will be at 5:30 p.m. The event is similar to a poker run and will begin at Cox Powersports in Walnut Ridge, continue through the Ozark Foothills and end at the Beatles Park. Admission is free to the public. There will be food, giveaways and live music featuring Harry Larry and George, Fallen Within and Exciter, a Kiss tribute band. Pioneer Village Open House

HORSESHOE BEND — The Pioneer Village Homeowners Association will celebrate its 40th anniversary with an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Horseshoe Bend. From Arkansas 289, turn west onto South Manor Drive and go a half mile north of the village center and follow signs to the parking areas. There will be tours of the clubhouse, pool area and grounds, and refreshments will be available. Select homes will be open for tours by owners or Realtors. Harold Carlisle Memorial Tournament

JACKSONVILLE — The sixth annual Harold Carlisle Memorial Tournament will feature a four-person scramble, beginning with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. June 24 at Southern Oaks Country Club. The cost is $100 per person, and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in each flight, and for longest drive and closest to the hole contests. The entry fee includes the green fee, a cart, range balls, lunch, on-course refreshments, two mulligans per player and one skirt per player. Each player will receive a door prize, and one person will have a chance to putt for $10,000. There will also be a golf-ball drop with a top prize of $1,000. Lunch will be provided beginning at 11:30 a.m.

NAMI Meeting

SEARCY — The National Alliance on Mental Illness will meet at 6 p.m. June 25 in the Cypress Room at White County Medical Center South. The topic for the meeting will be medication. Those attending can bring a list of medicines and supplements they take. Representatives from Harding University’s College of Pharmacy will be on hand to discuss medicine possibilities and how to use various kinds. This will be the group’s brown-bag meeting.
