CONCERT — Creedence Clearwater Revisited, featuring former Creedence Clearwater Revival members Stu Cook on bass and Doug Clifford on drums, visits Magic Springs Water and Theme Park for its 2013 Concert Series. The show starts at 8 p.m. at Timberwood Amphitheater. Admission for free lawn seating to the concert is included with a season pass or a general admission ticket day of show. MOVIE — “I love those cupcakes like McAdams loves Gosling” — those Lonely Island lyrics from “Lazy Sunday” reference both New York City’s Magnolia Bakery and The Notebook, the 2004 romantic drama based on the Nicholas Sparks book and starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. What we are getting at is The Notebook is this week’s free Movies in the Park at downtown Little Rock’s First Security Amphitheater. The movie starts at sunset (8:26 p.m. this Wednesday). TALES FROM THE SOUTH — Negro Leagues baseball pitcher and 17-season minor leaguer Ollie Brantley is the guest speaker at Tales from the South at Starving Artist Cafe. Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner and drinks served from 5-6:30 p.m. The show starts at 7 p.m. Music is provided by singer/songwriter Amy Garland and blues guitarist Mark Simpson. LECTURE — The Robinson Center’s Barry L. Travis Exhibition Hall is the site of the Frank and Kula Kumpuris Distinguished Lecture Series featuring Dr. Sanjay Gupta, the Emmy-winning chief medical correspondent for CNN. BREWHAHA — Pizza, beer and laughs from Avenue Q — that is what BrewHaHa at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre promises. The pizza and the beer, with brews supplied by Golden Eagle, starts at 6 p.m. in the main lobby. Avenue Q, a Tony “Triple Crown” winner for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book featuring a mix of Sesame Street and South Park, starts at 7 p.m. There are a limited number of tickets still available via therep.org. MUSIC — Wildwood Park for the Arts is “Gonna Go Zydeco!” with an appearance by Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. & The Zydeco Twisters in concert. Gates open at 6 p.m. for outdoor picnicking (food and beverages will be available for purchase) with the concert beginning at 8 p.m. in the Lucy Locket Cabe Festival Theatre. Reserve seats are $35. VIP tickets, including inside gate parking, a complimentary welcome cocktail and access to the VIP cash bar, are $65. (thursday)

FOOD — The Bill and Margaret Clark Room in the River Market Hall in downtown Little Rock plays host to Made in the Market, an exclusive cooking class using many of the locally grown items found at the Little Rock Farmers’ Market. Little Rock Marriott’s executive chef Chris Stroup is the chef for the class, which is demonstration style with some public participation. The event is 6-8 p.m., and tickets are $25.
