Suspicious death in Little Rock ruled a homicide

An investigation into a suspicious death last week has been officially ruled a homicide by the Little Rock Police Department.

According to a news release from the department, the incident that has been ruled a murder occurred on the night of June 19. At the time, authorities had responded to a call of a fire at 1909 East 8th Street at 11:55 p.m.

After putting out the flames, firefighters discovered the body of a deceased black female inside the house, lying on the kitchen floor.

Little Rock police secured the scene and after the body was examined at the state crime lab, it was determined, due to the injuries they sustained, that the victim, Gloria Summage, 50, was murdered.

So far there are no suspects and no motive has been established at this time.
