Red, white and blue: Spend the nation’s birthday getting in touch with the past at the Historic Arkansas Museum’s annual Frontier Fourth of July, 2-4 p.m. July 4. The celebration includes a patriotic parade, living history, crafts and a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Admission is free. Call (501) 324-9351.

Khaki, green and camouflage: Tanks, trucks and jeeps will roll into Little Rock for a peaceful display of military history and gadgetry as the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History hosts its first Vintage Military Vehicle Show. The vehicles will be parked around the museum, 503 E. Ninth St., for public viewing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 13. Admission is free. Call (501) 376-4602.
