A man who was reportedly upset about youths throwing rocks at his house was arrested Thursday in North Little Rock after he racked a shotgun while confronting a teen girl, authorities said.
Kenia Gibbs, 30, is being held in the Pulaski County jail on charges of aggravated assault, fleeing and possession of a firearm by certain persons.
North Little Rock police went to the 1900 block of West Short 17th Street about 7:30 p.m. to investigate a report a man was outside his home with a shotgun.
Police say they found Gibbs in the area and he initially fled before being taken into custody.
The 15-year-old victim said Gibbs "was saying that juvenile females were throwing rocks at his house" when he went inside, returned with a shotgun and then racked it in front of her, according to an arrest report.
"She said Gibbs walked around in his front yard yelling at her," police wrote in the report. "She stated she was scared Gibbs was going to shoot her."
Police say Gibbs, a felon, acknowledged getting the shotgun and going to his front door, but he said he never went outside with it. His girlfriend told investigators he did take it into the yard, the report said.
Police found the gun inside.
Gibbs was being held Friday morning with bail not yet set. A preliminary court date is set for July 2.
