Man shot at 27th and Battery streets dies

A Morrilton man who was shot in the torso Thursday in Little Rock has died from his injuries, authorities said.

Jaxson Guinn, 19, was taken to UAMS Medical Center after being shot near 27th and Battery streets and then driving a couple of blocks to Schiller Street and Roosevelt Road. He died early Friday.

Little Rock Police Department Sgt. Cassandra Davis said authorities have identified the suspected shooter and obtained a warrant for his arrest, though his name is not yet being released.

"At this time officers are searching for this individual," Davis said in a statement.

According to the incident report, Guinn was in the area to "buy some pills." The shooting happened about 12:45 p.m.
