A Garland County man was killed Saturday evening in a single-vehicle crash, according to an Arkansas State Police accident report.
Tommy Wayne Smith, 30, of Hot Springs, was driving south on Arkansas 5 in Owensville around 6:40 p.m. when his 2000 GMC Jimmy went off the road in a curve and hit a utility pole and a tree, the report states.
Police described conditions as clear and dry in the area. Smith was the 244th person to die on Arkansas roadways this year, according to preliminary reports.
