Weather conflicts will force the delay of a road project in North Little Rock that had been set for this weekend.
The city of North Little Rock said Friday that it's delaying the planned lane closure and subsequent work that had been set for the Main Street viaduct because of cold weather.
The project will now get under way March 8 and is scheduled to be done March 11.
The temperatures are not expected to get high enough for the concrete to set up properly this weekend, which is the cause of the delay, according to the city
Weather forecasts indicate the high temperature Saturday is expected to be 46 degrees with a low of 29. Sunday's temperatures are expected to be between 38 and 52 degrees.
On March 9, forecasts predict the temperature will reach a high of 68 degrees with a low of 50, while the temperatures are expected to get as high as 64, with a low of 45 degrees, on March 10.

This 'gateway" to NLR needs to be replaced and a more modern bridge put in its place. It has served its purpose well over the years but now is the time to replace it. It is not yet at the "disgrace" stage yet but is getting there. The political and civic leaders of NLR should be ashamed of themselves over this one.
