A Little Rock man was shot early Friday morning near a McDonald's restaurant on Rodney Parham Road.

Little Rock Police responded to a shooting at 10201 Rodney Parham Road about 12:39 a.m. Friday, according to the police report.

Officers found Malcom Medley, 20, on the restaurant floor and multiple blood spots inside the establishment and on the concrete outside. The police report states Medley suffered one gunshot wound in his right arm, below the elbow. Police said the injuries were not life-threatening.

Medley told police he was dropped off at the Breckendridge Stadium 12 movie theater by his girlfriend and proceeded to walk to the nearby McDonald's. Medley said he was shot at from a vehicle while walking to the restaurant.

Police said Medley was not sure of the type of vehicle, the occupants or the direction the vehicle was traveling, but he believed he heard two or three shots.

Eric Phillips, a 25-year-old McDonald's employee, told officers he observed Medley bleeding outside the restaurant, let him in and called police.

Matt Stewart, 25, was in the parking lot and told police he saw a dark colored sedan, possibly a Buick, with no hubcaps in the parking lot, as well. Stewart told officers he saw Medley get out of the vehicle.

The police report states officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

Police said Medley was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center for treatment.

Starting to sound like we need Wyatt Earp in LR

Why would anyone, police or media, reveal that the victim was taken to Baptist Hospital; so the perps can finish him off?

Sounds like a drug deal gone sour.

Hold on a minute...
Medley said his girlfriend dropped him off at the theater and he walked to McDonalds.

But witness Stewart said he saw Medley get out of a car with no hubcaps (presumably at McDonalds, but that's not clear)

Police are looking for the car with no hubcaps, so that must not have been Medley's girlfriend's car.

Sounds like Medley knows who shot at him and isn't talking.

Police need to set up roadblocks and start looking for drugs and illegal guns. Maybe we should ask the National Guard for help in rounding up the criminals and housing them somewhere. Do we have enough prison space for all these people?

I think that roadblock idea is a good one. It certainly gets results on New Year's Eve.
One day a few years ago, my husband was stopped in a roadblock coming home from work. He asked why, and they said they were checking for drunk drivers. He said "at 2:30 in the afternoon?!" The officer said that they had caught several already. I'll bet roadblocks in different surprise locations every day for awhile would sweep a lot of stuff off the streets!

Mayor Stodola says that the crime in LR is related more to how statistics are reported. He maintains that crime here isn't really different than most Southern cities of a comparable size. I feel so much better knowing that as the bullets whirr by.

So he thinks there is some sort of plot as to how statistics are reported around the country just for the purpose of making Little Rock look bad?

Let check the scorecard.....the thugs certainly are not being discriminating in the places they rob, terrorize, and murder in the past few weeks. A Mexican fast food outlet in Bryant, a pizza store in the mall, a sea food eatery, and now a drive-by at McDonalds. I'd be packin' if I worked at a bar-b-que joint.
