— Union Rescue Mission in Little Rock is opening a new men’s facility.

The organization that helps homeless people and addicts is holding an open house at 10 a.m. Saturday at the new site on Confederate Boulevard, which is between downtown and Little Rock’s airport.

The mission’s former men’s facility was built in 1929 and had been in use by the mission since 1946.

The mission offers nine-month residential recovery programs in addition to help for the homeless. The new facility can house 78 homeless people, 58 recovery clients and 38 work program clients.

The new site includes laundry facilities, classrooms and a multi-purpose room that is used for meals.
