A man was shot by Conway police who were responding to reports of a robbery Sunday afternoon at an apartment complex on Market Plaza Drive.
Conway Police Department spokesman LaTresha Woodruff said officers responded to a robbery call at Plaza Pointe Apartments, located at 2400 Market Plaza Drive, shortly before 2 p.m. and found the suspect outside the complex with a knife.
Woodruff said officers repeatedly commanded the suspect to drop the knife, but he refused. Officers used a Taser on the suspect, but Woodruff said he was unaffected. The suspect then charged one of the officers with the knife, at which point he was shot.
Woodruff said the suspect was airlifted to a Little Rock hospital. The suspect's name, condition and number of times he was shot was not immediately available.
Police said there was one stab victim with a "superficial" stab wound.
Conway police are still on the scene.
