Two men charged in a December home-invasion robbery in Little Rock's Hillcrest neighborhood pleaded innocent Tuesday before a Pulaski County circuit judge.

Alexander Higgins, 22, and Luke Patton, 20, are each facing charges of aggravated robbery, theft of property and aggravated residential burglary in the Dec. 6 incident at 3808 Oakwood Drive. Two other men — 23-year-old Wilbert Champ and 24-year-old Robert Morgan Perry — are also charged in the case, though they were not in court Tuesday.

The victim told police she was asleep when she heard banging noises and was then confronted by a man armed with a sawed-off shotgun.

The woman was held at gunpoint while the robbers took jewelry, electronics and other items.

During separate, brief hearings before Circuit Judge Leon Johnson, both Higgins and Patton entered innocent pleas and were advised of a previously issued no-contact order for the victim. Johnson asked each whether they would have any problem with the terms of that order.

"No, sir," Higgins and Patton each replied.

Neither man spoke again during the hearings, and both declined comment when asked about the case afterward by a reporter.

Both men were initially booked into the Pulaski County jail but later released on bond. The other two suspects, Champ and Perry, remain in the jail, records show.

Johnson also set an Aug. 6 trial date for Higgins and Patton. Their next hearing is set for July 1.

Court records show Champ entered an innocent plea last month. It wasn't clear when an arraignment is scheduled for Perry, who was arrested in February. The others were taken into custody several days after the robbery.

What kind of bail was deemed sufficient for four thugs who tied up a lawyer in her home and held her captive while they cleaned our her house?

Aggravated assault, and released on bond? No danger to the public, eh judge? Were not the 2 shooters in the Sbarro's murder either out on bond or former aggravated robbery perps, too ?

@BluffCityHog-Exactly!! @LeGrandOurs-The shooter at Sbarro that KILLED one, and injured another, was out on $20,000 bail. The other guy worked there.

So just how do you protect yourself from a home invasion while you're asleep ????
Locked entry doors, a noisy and/or large dog, locked bedroom door,,,,and hopefully you'll wake up from the noise before they are standing over you.

LOOK, you conservative complainers for law and justice...
Let some of the pot smokers out of jail and you might have some room for aggravated assaulters.

Were advised of a previously issued no contact order for victim and the Judge asked whether they have any problems with the terms? Guess not since they violated the terms.
Must have been a gun free zone since there was NO mention of a gun being stolen.

I wish someone would publish the addresses of these judges that grant bail to thugs. Maybe that would change their position. Also, publish the addresses of the county judge (Buddy the bridge builder) and the JP's that voted to spend $20 Million of our tax money for an "iconic" bridge in downtown instead of opening more jail space for this type of scum.

They probably learned their home-invasion skills in shop class at Central High. LRSD seems to specialize in criminal alumnus. But now we have Suggs, a superman who is going to turn the whole thing around, all by himself. If he has an honest reform bone in his body, he'll last about as long as that last reformer, Brooks.

Wonder if they were previously advised of any sort of laws-of-the-land that were in place that prohibited people pulling together a gang of thugs and weapons and then breaking into peoples' homes, threatening them and stealing from them? Who knows what other "rules" these THUGS have overlooked?
***
Keep these bastards in jail until they stand trial, so other citizens don't have to face these THUGS in the middle of the night. Awww hell, just hang them already.

They can be kept in jail, but who wants to pay more in tax to make that happen???
PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS...or as Pobucker said, let the pot smokers go.
Send your check to Sheriff Doc Holliday c/o pulaski jail......he'll be looking for it
