— The former Quad Graphics plant in Jonesboro has been purchased by Anchor Packaging Inc. of St. Louis.

Broker Jerry Halsey Jr. told The Jonesboro Sun in a story published Wednesday that Anchor has bought the 423,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehousing plant.

Anchor also has plants in Paragould and Marmaduke.

The purchase price and the number of employees Anchor plans in Jonesboro were not released.

Anchor’s web site says the company produces packaging for ready-to-heat meals in supermarkets, take-out containers in restaurants, all-purpose cling film and food service aluminum foil and pans.

Quad Graphics printed catalogs and magazines and had about 600 employees before closing last year.
