Late comeback nets boys 6A title for LR Hall; school sweeps boys and girls titles

Little Rock Hall came from behind, hitting a last second three-pointer to beat Jonesboro, 34-32, in the boys 6A title game.

The victory gave Hall the sweep in the 6A as the Hall girls won the 6A title earlier Saturday night at Barton Coliseum.

The boys trailed most of the night, as Jonesboro had a two-point advantage heading into the final quarter.

Jonesboro had a three-point lead with under a minute remaining, but was unable to hang on. Hall cut the lead to one with just under 30 seconds left, before hitting a three-pointer as time expired.

Hall, the No. 1 seed from the east, beat Lake Hamilton, Greenwood and Little Rock Parkview on its way to the state title. Jonesboro earned victories against Sheridan, Pine Bluff and Benton to clinch a spot in the title game.

Jonesboro's Kahron Ross, who has drawn interest from Arkansas, and Hall's Bobby Portis, a 2013 Arkansas commit and McDonald's All-American, were named co-MVPs.
