North Little Rock wins boys 7A state title

The North Little Rock Chargin' Wildcats beat the Fayetteville Bulldogs, 64-52, on Saturday night to capture the 7A boys state title.

North Little Rock led the majority of the night at Barton Coliseum, and held a 42-37 edge heading into the fourth quarter. The Chargin' Wildcats extended that lead to double digits late in the fourth.

KeVaughn Allen, a talented sophomore who has drawn interest from various schools including Arkansas, Baylor, Connecticut and Florida, was named the game's most valuable player.

North Little Rock, the No. 1 seed from the central, worked its way to the state title with wins over Bryant and West Memphis.

Fayetteville, the No.1 seed out of the west, beat Van Buren and Bentonville on its way to the finals.
