Catholic School Open House

RUSSELLVILLE — St. John Catholic School in Russellville will hold its spring open house from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Preregistrations will be taken for the 2013-2014 school year. St. John School is fully accredited and offers a pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade program. The school is at 1912 W. Main St. next to St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Choir Concert

CONWAY —The University of Central Arkansas Concert Choir will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Snow Fine Arts Center Recital Hall at UCA . The free concert is open to the public. For more information, contact John Erwin at (501) 450-5757 or johne@uca.edu.

QuickBooks Seminar

RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will present a hands-on business seminar, QuickBooks Payroll, from 9 a.m. to noon at Arkansas Tech University. Participants will learn to set up the necessary information to use the payroll features in QuickBooks. Topics will include setting up payroll, tracking employee time, issuing paychecks, paying liabilities and producing required payroll reports. A computer will be provided for each participant during this interactive session. The cost is $65. Seating is limited, and advanced registration is required by calling (479) 356-2067.

Brass Concert

SUBIACO — The Arkansas Tech University Brass Choir and Trombone Choir will give a free concert at 7 p.m. in Subiaco Abbey at the St. Benedict Church in Subiaco. For more information, call Gary Barrow at (479) 968-0477.

Retired Teachers Association Meeting

HEBER SPRINGS — The Cleburne County Retired Teachers Association will meet at noon at the Rustic Inn in Heber Springs. Sharon Johnson, travel coordinator with the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association, will talk about travel opportunities offered through ARTA. All retired school personnel are encouraged to attend to also hear about current legislative issues and bills that have been addressed in the current legislative session. Blood Drive

CONWAY — Conway Regional Medical Center and the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the auditorium of the hospital. To help reduce the wait time to give blood, donors are encouraged to make an appointment by going to redcrossblood.org and entering sponsor code CNWREG through today. Conway Regional Medical Center is on College Avenue, one block west of the intersection with Donaghey Avenue.

Business Seminar

RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will present a Small Business Financial Management seminar from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at Arkansas Tech University. The seminar will present the rules of financial-management best practices and teach about financial statements, working capital, budgeting, cash flow and financing a business. The cost is $30. Job Fair

HEBER SPRINGS — Heber Springs High School will host a job fair for juniors and seniors from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the high school gym. Tables and chairs will be available for businesses participating in the fair. For more information or to register, call Gaye Stark at (501) 250-5151.

Pancake Supper

MORRILTON — The First United Methodist Men’s annual Pancake Supper will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children and students in the 12th grade and younger. The menu will be pancakes, sausages, coffee, milk and soft drinks. Tickets will be available at the door or from the church office at 201 S. Chestnut St.

AARP Driver Safety Class

HEBER SPRINGS —There will be an AARP Driver Safety class from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the McCoy Room of the Administration/Student Services Building at Arkansas State University-Heber Springs. Individuals age 55 and older who complete the course will qualify for a three-year discount on their automobile-insurance premiums in Arkansas. The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. The fee may be paid in cash or by check (payable to AARP). Catfish Supper

ST. VINCENT — Knights of Columbus Council 10908 in St. Vincent (nine miles north of Morrilton on Arkansas 95) will sponsor its 20th annual catfish supper from 5-8 p.m. The menu will include fries, hushpuppies, coleslaw and dessert. The price is $12 for adults and $5 for children 5-12 years old. Children 4 and younger may eat free. Adult take-out meals will be available for $10 each. For more information, call (501) 354-4854.

Cherokee Bingo Fundraiser

CONWAY — Cherokee Bingo will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at Bob’s Grill in downtown Conway. Doors will open at 4 p.m. for dinner, with bingo mini packs starting at 6:15 p.m. and main packs starting at 6:45 p.m. Proceeds from the event will go to the University of Central Arkansas Athletic Scholarship Fund.
