A man and woman were arrested Sunday after police found two young children in a home that smelled so strongly of marijuana that an officer had trouble breathing inside, police reports show.

Tina Marbley, 30, and Terrence Henry, 31, are each facing charges of public intoxication and two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor after being arrested about 4 p.m. at a residence in the 1900 block of Crutcher Street. Marbley is also facing a charge of communicating a false alarm in reference to an initial, false report of a shooting that drew officers to the residence in the first place.

According to an arrest report filed in her case, Marbley called authorities and told them there had been a shooting that left a victim with a gunshot wound in the head and that the suspect was still there.

When officers arrived, Marbley asked them to search the area for "blue short pants" because Henry had concealed something in them, the report said. She later added that Henry had given her "something" she smoked and that it had "messed with my head."

"Ms. Marbley stated that she had told dispatchers that someone had been shot so that there would be a more rapid response," police wrote in the report. "It should be noted that there were no physically injured parties at the location."

Authorities later learned Marbley's two, 2-year-old sons were in the home. Officers found them in a back bedroom with a baby gate blocking the door.

Police say there was a strong odor of marijuana, as well as PCP, inside.

"I entered the residence only briefly due to the fact that the odor was so strong I had trouble breathing," an officer wrote in the report.

Marbley was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock for possible ingestion of narcotics she "stated had been placed in her food or drink by Mr. Henry," the report said. She was later released and booked into the Pulaski County jail.

Henry, who told investigators he lived at the residence but was not the children's father, was arrested at the scene. Police said he showed signs of intoxication and had an odor of marijuana on his person.

Both suspects remained in jail Monday morning.

The Department of Human Services took custody of the children.

How does one smell PCP? Also how can you be charged with PUBLIC intox INSIDE a home? I'm not saying these people are saints BUT I'm quite sure PCP has no odor and the intox charge should NEVER have happened.

I too find it odd to see public intox at a private residence but Ms. Marbley did invited the cops to their home. Is it possible that PCP laced marijuana has a certain smell if smoked?
