The Civil War Trust is seeking volunteers to help clean up battlefields and historic sites throughout Arkansas.

The annual event, known as Park Day, is part of a larger cleanup involving more than 100 historic sites in 24 states. This year's Park Day is set for April 6.

Officials say they're looking for volunteers to help clean up five historic sites in Arkansas. They are: Jenkins' Ferry Battlefield and Park in Pine Bluff, Historic Washington State Park, Poison Springs Battleground State Park near Camden, Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park and Reed's Bridge Battlefield in Jacksonville.

The Civil War Trust says it's preserved more than 35,000 acres of battlefield land in 20 states.
