A Missouri man died Tuesday after his pickup veered into oncoming traffic and hit a truck head-on.

Arkansas State Police say it happened about 8:30 a.m. as Stanley J. Lackey, 55, was driving a 2010 Toyota Tundra west on U.S. 62 east of Pea Ridge Military Park in Benton County.

According to a preliminary report, the Tundra drifted across the centerline and hit a 2013 Kenworth truck head-on.

Lackey was dead at the scene. The Kenworth driver was unhurt.

The death marked at least the 79th in a traffic accident on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
