HOT SPRINGS — Summit Arena is losing the Sun Belt Conference logos emblazoned on its basketball courts after the league decided to move its conference championship from Hot Springs to New Orleans.
Hot Springs has hosted the men's and women's basketball championships since 2009. In February, the league opted to move the games to New Orleans beginning in 2014.
Visit Hot Springs CEO Steve Arrison tells the Sentinel-Record that the Sun Belt logo will soon be removed from Summit Arena's main court. In about a year, the logo will be removed from the second court.
Arrison says Hot Springs is pursuing other basketball tournaments, including the Great American Conference. He says officials are also considering hosting volleyball tournaments at the arena.

HOW much money is being spent to have these logos on the courts? What ever happened to putting up banners? Is the Sun belt responsible for the cost to remove it?
