Authorities are investigating an accusation made by the parents of a Little Rock student that a teacher has been sending their child inappropriate text messages.
The parents of a Joe T. Robinson High School student contacted an official with the Pulaski County Special School District and said they discovered "several text messages and inappropriate digital images from a teacher from the high school" on their son's cell phone, an information report from the Pulaski County sheriff's office states.
The official was able to confirm that the phone number the parents said the messages came from matched that of a teacher working at the school, according to the report. While the parents missed a scheduled meeting with the official Wednesday, the official did file a report with the Crimes Against Children Division of the Arkansas State Police and alerted the sheriff's office to the situation.
The official met with the parents Thursday to discuss the accusation, but a sheriff's office official said in the report that, to pursue the case further, an investigator would need to meet with the parents to obtain the purported content from the phone.
No further information was immediately available as the investigation is ongoing.
