This article was published March 14, 2013 at 8:43 a.m.

— A small earthquake was recorded Wednesday night east of Hardy, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The magnitude-2.0 temblor occurred shortly before 6:40 p.m. about 12 miles east of the north Arkansas city.

The minor shaking was the latest in a series of small quakes in Arkansas in recent weeks. The Arkansas Geological Survey shows 18 previous earthquakes so far this year with all of them occurring in roughly the northern third of the state.

All but one of the quakes this year have been less than a 3.0 magnitude. One near Trumann on Feb. 23 registered a 3.6.

No significant damage has been reported in any of the earthquakes.
