A Holly Grove woman was killed Thursday, after the car she was driving was hit by a truck in Monroe County.
Authorities say Margaret C. Hill, 70, was driving a 2007 Cadillac CTS north on Arkansas 49 shortly after 1 p.m. when she attempted to turn left into a private drive about 10 miles south of Brinkley.
According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, the Cadillac was hit on the shoulder by a southbound Peterbilt truck.
Hill was dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
The death marked at least the 84th fatality in a traffic accident on Arkansas roadways so far this year, according to preliminary figures.

"the Cadillac was hit on the shoulder" - The shoulder of the road? In that case, why was the Peterbuilt not being operated in its own lane?

The reason the truck driver was on the shoulder was because he was trying to keep from hitting her.
