Growing edible plants is not exactly a new concept in gardening. Gardeners like to eat what they grow, writes Janet B. Carson in HomeStyle.
But some people just don’t have the space or inclination for an acre or more of vegetables, or they have fairly defined garden spaces. You don’t have to have an all-or-nothing garden. Edible landscaping lets you have your cake and eat it too — or rather, have your flowers and vegetables and eat them.
“Edible landscaping” involves planting edible plants in and among your ornamental plants. This can involve vegetables, fruits and herbs.
See Saturday’s Arkansas Democrat-Gazette for her tips for slipping some tasty treats into your landscape.
