TULSA — Defense attorneys for a 21-year-old Tulsa woman charged with pushing her husband to his death from the 25th floor of a downtown apartment are expected to begin putting on their case.

The second-degree murder trial for Amber Hilberling is to resume Friday in Tulsa County District Court.

Prosecutors say Hilberling pushed her husband, Joshua, out an apartment window to his death. She says she acted in self-defense and that the apartment had dangerously thin glass.

Amber Hilberling rejected a plea deal offered by prosecutors last week and decided to go to trial, where she faces up to life in prison if convicted.

Prosecutors on Thursday challenged Hilberling’s claim of self-defense by calling police detectives who testified they saw no signs of a struggle in the couple’s apartment.
