Six-week abortion limit a step from law in N.D.

By DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE STAFF FROM WIRE REPORTS

North Dakota moved one step closer Friday to adopting what would be the most restrictive abortion laws in the country, with lawmakers sending the Republican governor measures that ban abortions as early as six weeks into a pregnancy and prohibit the procedure because of genetic defects such as Down syndrome.
