A gunman forced an assistant manager of Kmart in Little Rock back into the store after it closed Sunday night and then made him open the safe. police have said.
Police say the robber made off with about $6,000 in the robbery of the store at 10901 N. Rodney Parham Road.
According to a Little Rock Police Department report, the assistant manager was leaving about 9 p.m. when he noticed someone had pierced one of the tires on his pickup.
While the man was working to repair it, the gunman came up behind him and demanded he open the door to the business.
The employee did so and was then forced at gunpoint to open the safe.
After getting the cash, the robber fled on foot and wasn't found. No arrests have been made.

Assailant knew manager's vehicle and was waiting. Is this the case of someone casing the place, or an inside-job? Former employee?
Something smells.

For approx $3/month, most auto insur companies & at least AT&T cell ph service offer road side assistance (keys locked in car, dead battery, out of gas, FLAT Tire), so unless you're just dirt poor, most shouldn't have to touch their jack & spare.

This was an error by upper management. There is no way ANYONE in any retail/cash type business should be allowed to leave that type of business by themself in Little Rock. The flat tire was done so that if a 2nd employee was leaving at the same time (usual policy) they could still gain entrance by delaying the main man until the 2nd employee had driven off. You are right, the "unsub perp" had been in the store and identified this manager previously.

Of course, NWA, you are overlooking another potential suspect, the assistant manager. People do crazy stuff; for example, that guy in Chenal who tied himself up, set his house on fire, and then jumped through a glass window, to make the arson and attempted murder look "real."
