A teenage girl has been taken to the hospital for observation after leading authorities on a vehicle chase that ended with a crash on the Interstate 30 bridge.
Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said troopers tried to stop a Ford Mustang on I-30 in Bryant because it was reported stolen Monday morning out of Texas. The driver was a 16-year-old girl whose parents told authorities she was "suicidal," Sadler said.
Troopers pursued the Mustang on I-30 through Little Rock, using spike strips to take out at least one of its tires on the south side of the city.
The chase continued to the bridge, where the Mustang appeared to have spun around, lost a wheel and hit the side wall shortly after the last Little Rock on-ramp in the northbound lanes.
The girl was taken into custody there without further incident shortly before 9:15 a.m.
The scene brought northbound traffic to a near-halt, and a separate wreck at the same time in the southbound lanes did the same for that side of the highway, backing up traffic in both directions for about half an hour. The scenes had both been cleared shortly after 10 a.m.

We watched two (2) people being loaded into two (2) separate ambulances...one person each in both the south and northbound lanes. One person seemed to be handcuffed to bed railing.

Thanks for this coverage. I wondered about this. Had no idea it was criminal (thought it was just a wreck, not the end-result of a chase).

Should have been only a single wreck & ambulance, but the rubberneck mentality prevailed.....

So you're saying your little cousin is a criminal, or just plays one on TV?

Lol. Technically, she is a criminal. She stole her mothers car & led the cops on a chase..But she's still my blood. I feel sorry for her bc of her life situation but @ the same time, this crap is HER fault.. She's a reckless mess. I just hope being locked up will straighten her out.
Ps. Y'all be nice. No need to be rude! (:

When you disobey law enforcement and endanger others, you may be thought of as a "criminal". Lucky for her, it appears the police won't press charges.

Okay stealing your mom's car is a little different than stealing from someone else though like you say she is a mess. I hope she gets the help she needs and learns to take responsibility.

sorry about your cousin, she made some bad and dangerous decisions for sure.
but i am against the police chases thru metro traffic as sometimes innocent people
get killed along the chase. Those chases can sometimes be delayed and the criminal caught at a better place and time. They knew her name, so they could always come pick her up later. Why the hurry to chase most of these criminals?

Someone who endangers the lives in innocent motorists garners little sympathy from me.
