A wintry mix will drop up to 4 inches of snow on parts of north Arkansas as a storm moves through Thursday, the National Weather Service said.
The agency says snow, sleet and possibly some freezing rain will fall beginning mid- to late Thursday morning and continue through the day.
"Hazardous travel, mainly at higher elevations and on elevated roadways such as bridges and overpasses, will be possible," the weather service said in a statement.
Baxter, Boone, Clay, Craighead, Dunklin, Fulton, Greene, Izard, Lawrence, Marion, Randolph and Sharp counties were all under winter storm watches Wednesday morning. Forecasters say the region could see between 1 and 4 inches of snow.
Points farther south, including Little Rock, are expected to see some brief, light sleet before transitioning to all rain.
