— Police are looking for a man who dragged a woman along a sidewalk as he tried to take her purse Tuesday night in Little Rock.

Authorities say it happened shortly before 9 p.m. as the 32-year-old victim got out of her vehicle in the 1300 block of Cumberland Street.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, the robber attempted to take the purse, which was on the woman's shoulder, and then dragged her along the sidewalk when she refused to let it go. The man eventually ran off without getting the purse, police said.

The woman suffered light abrasions on her knees, police said.

The report describes the robber as a black man with a dark complexion and a heavy build. No arrests have been made.

I don't think a Concealed carry weapon could be used in this situation.

LR1955, I went to school with a girl who was later killed in NYC. She chose not to let go of her purse and was shot to death. Whether she knew beforehand that her assailant had a gun was unclear. Anyone approaching in a threatening manner justifies drawing a concealed weapon. Continued approach justifies use of said weapon.
