A Morrilton woman was fatally struck by a pickup Tuesday night while she walked on Arkansas 64, authorities said.

Arkansas State Police say 52-year-old Christina E. Shouse was walking on the highway shortly before 10 p.m. in an area west of Morrilton when she was hit by a westbound Ford F-150.

Shouse was dead at the scene. The pickup driver was not injured.

The fatality marked at least the 90th death in a traffic accident on Arkansas roadways so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
