Website Seminar

DARDANELLE — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will present a free Website in a Day seminar for small-business owners from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dardanelle Area Chamber of Commerce. Stroke Survivors Support Group

CONWAY — Conway Regional Rehabilitation Hospital has begun a support group for individuals who have experienced strokes. The Stroke Support Group, which is open to all stroke survivors and caregivers, will meet in the hospital classroom at noon the third Thursday of each month, beginning today. At the first meeting, Gina Sifford, community resource specialist with the Division of Aging and Adult Services, will discuss options for long-term care. For more information, call (501) 514-4925.

Writer’s Craft Lecture Series

CONWAY — The Conway Creative Writers and the Faulkner County Library will host a lecture series titled Building Great Sentences: Exploring the Writer’s Craft. Classes will meet at 2 p.m. Friday and April 5. These video presentations are a part of The Great Courses series and are made possible by a donation from Shirley Barham. Audubon Society Meeting

DARDANELLE — The Arkansas River Valley Audubon Society will meet at 7 p.m. at the Lake Dardanelle State Park Visitor Center. The program will be a PowerPoint presentation titled Autumn in Nebraska, presented by Teresa Matthews. Visitors are welcome to attend, and refreshments will be served. Computer Training Registration

UCA Green Week

CONWAY — Students of the University of Central Arkansas will host a weeklong event at UCA to raise awareness and promote activism regarding environmentally friendly initiatives, as well as to educate the community on the environment. This year’s Green Week will kick off Monday and continue through March 29. Daytime activities will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In the evenings, starting at 6, notable speakers and documentaries from around the state will be presented. The free events are open to the public. Audubon Society Meeting

CLINTON — The Little Red River Audubon Society will meet at Western Sizzlin’. Dan Smith will talk about his experiences from his recent birding trip to Colombia, South America. Dinner will be Dutch treat at 5:30 p.m., and the program will begin at 7 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded after the meeting.

Student Visit Day

MORRILTON — Sacred Heart will host a Student Visit Day on Wednesday for students entering kindergarten through the 12th grade, including undecided families, to attend classes at Sacred Heart Catholic School. A reception for parents will be held from 8-10:30 a.m. in the cafeteria. Students may attend a partial or full day with the class they will join in fall 2013. Scholarship Opportunity

MAUMELLE — The Maumelle Newcomers Club is offering a $1,000 scholarship. All residents of Maumelle are eligible to apply, as well as immediate family members of Newcomer Club members. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade-point average and cannot be the recipient of a full scholarship. The scholarship is available to those attending a four-year or two-year institution or an accredited technical college. Graduate and part-time students are also eligible. Applications must be postmarked by April 26 and can be obtained at the Maumelle Public Library or by calling scholarship chairwoman Ann Lewis at (501) 803-3669.

Cherokee Bingo Fundraiser

CONWAY — Cherokee Bingo will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at Bob’s Grill in downtown Conway. Doors will open at 4 p.m. for dinner, with bingo mini packs starting at 6:15 p.m. and main packs starting at 6:45 p.m. Proceeds from the event will go to the University of Central Arkansas Athletic Scholarship Fund.

State of Health Luncheon

CONWAY — The State of Health in Arkansas and Faulkner County will be on the agenda during the Conway Regional Women’s Council’s inaugural State of Health Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 28 in the Student Center Ballroom at the University of Central Arkansas. Guest speakers will be Dr. Joe Bates, deputy director of the Arkansas Department of Health, and Jim Lambert, president and chief executive officer of the Conway Regional Health System. Breakfast With the Easter Bunny

PERRYVILLE — Breakfast With the Easter Bunny will be held from 8:30-10 a.m. March 30 at the Perryville United Methodist Church’s Connection Center. The menu will include pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage. Each child will have an opportunity to visit with the Easter Bunny and receive a free photo from the event. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 2-12. All proceeds will go to the Adona Volunteer Fire Department.

Easter Egg Hunt

CONWAY — The Hendrix College Wellness and Athletics Center and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host an Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. March 30 on the track and turf field behind the center. This event for the Conway community is open to children ages 2 to 10. Families are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to be donated to Bethlehem House.
