CAMERON, Okla. — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says one person was killed and seven were injured in a head-on collision in Le Flore County.

The highway patrol says the crash happened Thursday night on Oklahoma 112 about 1 mile south of Cameron. A preliminary report says a pickup crossed the centerline and crashed into a car traveling north.

One passenger in the car, 30-year-old Manuel Medina of Cameron, was pronounced dead at a Fort Smith hospital. The car's driver and three other passengers were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.

All three people in the pickup were injured. The driver is in critical condition and the two passengers are in stable condition.

Authorities don't yet know why the pickup veered into oncoming traffic.
